Dances and Guests
Dances are a privilege, and students must dance appropriately. Each AVHS student may bring one non-AVHS guest with advance administrative approval. Guests must be in ninth grade or above and younger than 21.
Field Trips
Students remain responsible to the school during school-sponsored activities and travel. Qualified adults supervise students at school, on school grounds during school hours, during school travel and at school-sponsored activities.
A school field-trip form must document permission from the custodial parent or another authorized person before a student attends an off-site activity.
During school hours or school-sponsored activities, students are released only to a known custodial parent or another authorized person.
Staff may not leave an assigned group unsupervised unless arrangements are made to address an emergency.
Students may not drive themselves or other students to school field trips.
Posters Signs and Announcements
Announcements, posters, signs, banners and similar materials for school or outside activities must be approved and initialed by the principal or assistant principal for activities before display.
Include the sponsoring organization, sponsoring teacher or coach, and the event date and time. Use only approved areas, such as display cases and bulletin boards. After approval, coordinate display with the library. Unapproved or incorrectly displayed materials are removed.
School Store
Student Council operates the school store with ACE In-School Work-Based Learning students. It sells snacks and spirit apparel, including hoodies, T-shirts and water bottles.
The store opens for brief periods during passing times and for a short time at the start of lunch. Plan purchases for those times.
