If you have an interest in bees or honey, you should check out Rocky Mountain Bee Supply! Rocky Mountain Bee Supply is a business owned by Mr. Rickerman’s family. They supply honey, beekeeping supplies, and beekeeping lessons that can be purchased in store or online. The business started in 2016 when Mr. Rickerman’s mom took interest in having bees as a hobby and it grew into a business. They now own 84 hives, 24 are in Monument and 60 are in Fountain, and each hive is 4 boxes tall! For hives so big, heating might be an issue but they make sure to give the bees extra honey so they can stay warm throughout the winter. The honey is delicious. The flavor depends on the season and the area. Spring honey is lighter and less sugary while summer and fall honey is thicker and richer. Scotty Conroy purchased his bees and equipment from Rocky Mountain Bee Supply before he knew of its AVC connection! Scotty has been beekeeping for a few years and loves it.
